Call for reduction in Tax

23rd June 2020

” A number of people are now calling for a reduction in tax to stimulate the economy. This may be introduced by a cut in VAT or a cut in income taxes or corporation tax.

Such a cut would be likely to stimulate the economy in the short term but in the long term the borrowings need to be paid for and that may be done by an increase in tax.”
