“Many people feel anxious or left behind by the modern tax system, especially when everything has moved online. Our free Tuesday sessions are simply about giving something back — making sure everyone, regardless of age or computer skills, can get clear, friendly help with their tax affairs.”

Widnes Tuesday Business
Network – Community Tax Help Hour
Every Tuesday, 10:00am to 11:00am
Venue: Holland & Co Chartered Accountants, 102 Widnes Road, Widnes, Cheshire, WA8 6AX
At Holland & Co, we believe that professional knowledge should serve the community — not just businesses.
That’s why every Tuesday morning, from 10am to 11am, we open our doors for a free, drop-in tax help session designed especially for elderly taxpayers, those unfamiliar with online systems, or anyone confused by the complexity of the UK tax process.
What the session is for
Tax can be confusing — and with more forms, deadlines, and digital systems than ever, it’s easy to feel left behind.
Our Community Tax Help Hour provides friendly, face-to-face support for those who:

-
Are unsure how to file a Self Assessment tax return
-
Need help understanding letters from HMRC
-
Struggle with online tax accounts or digital logins
-
Want to know if they’re paying the right amount of tax
-
Are concerned about tax codes, pensions, or state benefits
-
Simply want clear explanations in plain English
-
-
There’s no charge, no obligation, and no sales pitch — just honest help from professionals who care.
Why we do it
For nearly 40 years, Holland & Co has supported businesses and individuals across Widnes, Warrington, and the North West.
Many of our older clients and community members have told us how difficult the tax system has become — especially with the shift to digital-only services.
This pro bono initiative is our way of giving something back to the community that has supported us since 1986.
We believe no one should feel excluded or anxious because of the complexity of the tax system.

“After four decades in accountancy, I’ve seen how stressful tax can be for those unfamiliar with technology or HMRC’s online systems.
